The Power High-Rate Series of valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) batteries have been developed and refined by Power Battery since 1972. It is the battery of choice for many OEM's and users throughout the world.

Our state of the art VRLA design utilizes an absorbed glass mat (AGM) separator technology to immobilize the battery electrolyte. There is never any need to add water to the cells and in fact all vents are factory sealed.

These batteries are the ideal choice for U.P.S., emergency lighting, switchgear and other standby applications which need reliable, high rate power. Since these batteries are low-gassing they require no special ventilation. Additionally, a compact design makes them perfect for low maintenance and space restricted applications.

    Operates at a low internal pressure.

  • Shock absorbent thick wall polypropylene cases.
  • Flame retardant cases are optional (TC and SLF models).
  • TC and SLF models are compliant with UL1778 requirements.
  • Cold forged non-porous terminal bushings eliminate post leakage.
  • Thermally welded cover to case bond, eliminates both acid and electrical leaks.
  • Over-sized, through the partition inter-cell welds provide low resistance connections with minimal power loss.
  • Each cell has a low pressure safety release one way venting system recognized per U.L. 924.
  • Measured high vacuum acid fill reduces electrical variability between cells.
  • 100% recyclable materials, MSDS.

High Rate VRLA Specifications

Operating temperature range: -40°C/-40°F to 60°C/140°F
-40°C/-40°F to 60°C/140°F
Charging voltage / current: 2.27 to 2.30 volts per cell, constant voltage at a maximum current of C/4 amps.
Temperature compensation: Apply for temperature range of 0°C/32°F to 40°C/104°F. Subtract 3 mV/°C/cell or 1.7 mV/°F/cell, above 25°C/77°F. Add 3 mV/°C/cell or 1.7 mV/°F/cell, below 25°C/77°F.
Storage time from a fully charged condition: 6 months at 25°C/77°F. For each 9°C/15°F rise, reduce the storage time by half.
